Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “CAL. 270 Win.  MADE IN FINLAND”.  The right side of the barrel is marked “WARNING: READ MANUAL FOR SAFE USE FREE FROM / IMPORTER-BERETTA U.S.A., CORP ACKK,MD 20607”.  The chamber is marked “SAKO IV 204707”. The buttpad is marked “DECELRATOR”.  The butt of the pistol grip has a plate marked “SAKO”.  There are Finnish proof marks on the receiver.

Barrel Length: 24 Inches

Sights/Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights on this rifle. The receiver fitted with a scope Leupold VARI X III 3.5-10 Variable scope.  The scope has a duplex reticle and the glass is clear.  

Stock Configuration and Condition: The stock is one-piece checkered walnut with a fluted Monte Carlo comb with cheek-piece, capped pistol grip, rear sling swivel, and a”Limbsaver” rubber recoil pad. There is a copper metal “SAKO” inlay in the grip cap. There are multiple light handling marks including a few small compressions on the right side of the stock near the floorplate. There are no chips or cracks. The checkering is sharp. The LOP measures 13 1 /4” from the trigger to the rubber recoil pad. The recoil pad is soft and remains pliable. The stock rates in Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.  In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.  

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 95% of its metal finish. There is some thinning of the finish on the trigger guard and receiver.  There is no significant wear present. The screw heads are sharp. The rifle has an installed Limbsaver Sharpshooter X-Ring Barrel Dampener.  The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine overall condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork, and Accessories: Rifle comes with the scope as described above and the installed Limbsaver Sharpshooter X-Ring Barrel Dampener.
