Our Assessment: The Winchester Model ’94 is one of the mainstays of the rifle world, and the lever action rifle is an iconic design. The .30-30 cartridge is a time honored deer and small game round, capable out to hundreds of yards, it has probably taken more deer than any American cartridge!
Winchester manufactured the Lone Star commemorative rifle in 1970 to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Texas’s statehood. The rifles have a special “LS” prefix on their serial numbers and were produced along with a carbine version. This one is special, wrapped in the gold tone of a Winchester commemorative; it retains all the elements of its classic design, but dresses it up, especially if you’re a Texan! It sports a half-round/half octagonal barrel and an excellent 10/10 bore. Clearly, this rifle has been more of a safe queen than a workhorse in its 50+-year life. Nice rifle, and likely to be a bargain for a lucky bidder! Please see our photos for a better understanding of condition and good luck with your bids!!!
