Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this rifle includes a large bi-pod integrated into the 9” forend, a pistol grip and a detachable stock with adjustable comb and cantible and drop adjustable rubber butt pad. The length of pull is 15”. This rifle weighs 36lb. The furniture shows light scattered marks and handling with none being notable. There are no visible cracks or chips. Overall the furniture set is in Very Good+ to Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. The muzzle brake shows very minor fouling but no verdigris; the bolt face is very clean. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: The rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The rifle shows some very minor handling and storage with no notable marks or wear. There is minor discoloration in the finish from age. Overall this rifle is in Excellent to Excellent+ condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Iver Johnson AMAC “Ultimate Accuracy” model 1500/5100 is a hulking, single-shot .50 BMG anti-materiel rifle that wears its purpose on its sleeve. This example tips the scales at about 36 lbs and features a heavy, harmonically-tuned barrel with a two-stage muzzle brake that eats recoil and keeps the rifle shootable from supported positions; feeding is via the distinctive removable “shell-holder” rotating bolt system that requires the bolt to be removed, a round seated into the bolt face, and then reinserted and locked for firing. This rock-solid mechanism is optimized for very large caliber rounds. The stock is detachable and highly adjustable (comb, cant, and drop tunable with a rubber butt pad), the forend integrates a stout, large bipod into a roughly 9-inch fore section for rock-steady support, and a pistol grip gives modern ergonomics and control. Where other big rifles feel like artillery, the AMAC feels like a precision tool heavy, stable, and built to deliver accurate, one-shot performance at long ranges.
Beyond raw hardware, the AMAC 1500/5100 carries a bit of 1980s special-operations pedigree and old-school engineering swagger: the design dates to the early 1980s as a derivative of the RAP/RAI Model 500, produced in limited numbers and fielded in small military actions in the decade that followed.
