Our Assessment: The Browning Model 12 in 28 Gauge is a finely crafted Japanese reproduction of the iconic Winchester Model 12, made by Miroku under supervision from Browning. Built with modern precision and traditional craftsmanship, this shotgun captures the look and feel of the original but with contemporary reliability and beauty. This example, manufactured in 1990, remains in Excellent condition and would make a phenomenal addition to any collection. It’s an especially desirable configuration due to its relatively limited production and Browning’s reputation for quality.
The 28 Gauge chambering makes this an ideal shotgun for light upland game hunting or casual clay shooting, offering minimal recoil with elegant handling. The 26” barrel with Modified choke gives you a balanced reach — optimized for 30 yard shots. Modified choke has more hunting applications than any other choke. Whether you’re a collector of fine repeaters, a fan of the venerable Model 12 platform, or simply looking for a high-quality 28 gauge pump gun that stands apart from the crowd, this beautiful Browning is well worth a look.
