The screw heads range from sharp to tooled with serviceable slots. Overall, this pistol rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. The firing pin ring still rotates.

Our Assessment: This compact Remington Elliot’s ring-trigger four-barrel derringer presents very well — an attractive period example dating to the 1860s–1870s with strong, original nickel plating (about 98% remaining) and clear factory markings. All serialized parts are present and the firing-pin ring still rotates; the action functions correctly on manual check. The bores are mostly bright with defined rifling but do show moderate erosion (graded 6/10), and the current two-piece wood grips are serviceable but are not original to the pistol.
Overall this piece is a fine candidate for a historic small-arms collection or display, offering great visual appeal and solid mechanical condition for its age. This derringer makes an excellent addition as a display or research example of Remington’s mid-19th century repeating pistol designs. Please look at our photos and good luck with your bid! -N.P
