Markings: The tang is marked “B9012”.The top of the barrel is marked “Shiloh-Sharps Model 1874” and “CALIBRE 45 / 24/10”. The left side of the receiver is marked “SHILOH RIFLE MFG. CO. BIG TIMBER, MONTANA.”.
Barrel Length: 30” Heavy Octagon barrel. The rifle weighs 12lbs 8OZ.
Sights / Optics: This rifle is mounted with a windage adjustable globe front sight with a spirit level and simple post insert. The rear sight is an MVA Soulle tang sight with a mid range staff and small eye disc mounted to the upper tang. This is a premium sight set in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two piece checkered “Fancy” walnut. The buttstock is a full pistol grip with checkered curved lower tang, straight comb with cheek piece, and has a case colored checkered metal butt plate with blued screws. The handguard features a Hartford tip checkered forend with blued screws. The LOP measures 14.25? from the front of the front trigger to the back of the butt plate. The Hartford tip shows some minor surface lines/marks common with that type of finish. The wood shows scattered light handling marks with none being notable. The butt plate shows no wear. There are no visible chips or cracks. The Furniture is in about Excellent+ overall condition.
Type of Finish: The barrel and sights are blued and the receiver, lever, tangs and hammer are case color. All the screws are blued.
Finish Originality: All Original
Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion. If this rifle has been fired outside of testing it was very little. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains 99% of its finish. The barrel shows no notable marks or wear. The action is very clean. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall this rifle is in Excellent + to Like New condition.
Mechanics: This rifle has double set triggers, which function correctly. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
