Sights / Optics: The front sight is a blade pinned in a serrated, ramped base fixed to the front of the barrel, adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a square-notch with a white triangle aiming reference, adjustable for elevation in a base fixed to the rear of the barrel. The top of the receiver has QD scope mounts with rings holding a Swarovski Z61-6x scope with a BRT reticle. The scope has only a few light marks with clear glass.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut full stock with steel nosecap, rosewood capped pistol grip, arched comb with cheekpiece, black rubber Mannlicher buttpad and sling swivels front and rear. The stock has a few minor marks with a more notable compression on the right of the forend at the sling swivel. The checkering is well defined. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 14 1/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The pad shows minor wear. Overall, the stock is in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore, but there is some stubborn copper fouling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The metal shows only light handling marks. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Fine-Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a single 4-round magazine and the previously described scope.
Our Assessment: This is a beautiful rifle from Steyr and better yet is in high condition showing little signs of use. The SBS European has a checkered full stock, deep blue finish, 20″ hammer-forged barrel, and a spoonhandle bolt knob. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for mounting your favorite accessories and this one comes with a very nice Swarovski 1-6x scope already installed. The rifle feeds from 4-round magazines, one of which come included to get you started. This one is in Fine-Excellent condition with a little light wear in the stock and almost none in the metal. This rifle promises to be a joy at the range or a terror for the local deer population. Please see our photos and good luck!
