Mechanics: The action functions correctly. Lockup produces very little play side-to-side and minor end-shake on all six chambers. The trigger is crisp. We did not fire this revolver, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.

Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army is one of the most iconic revolvers in history, introduced in 1873 and still produced today. The 3rd Generation guns, such as this one, were built starting in 1976 and reflect Colt’s continued commitment to the traditional Peacemaker design. Chambered in .45 Colt with a 7.5” barrel, this revolver represents the classic full-length cavalry configuration, offering excellent sight radius and balance. The nickel finish was a popular option for buyers who wanted both a distinctive appearance and a protective finish against wear and corrosion.

This example, manufactured between 1976 and 1993, remains in Very Good condition, retaining about 90% of its original nickel finish. Peeling and oxidation are present on the frame, with scratches and a few small nicks visible on the barrel. There is a defined turn line on the cylinder, and light thinning across the high points. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, rating 9 out of 10, and the mechanics are solid with a crisp trigger and minimal play at lockup. The synthetic white grips with Colt’s rampart and eagle motifs are intact and clean, rating Excellent. Please look at our photos and good luck with your bid! -N.P
