Markings:The left side of the barrel is marked with Remington’s 2-Line warning & address, along with “264 WIN. MAG.”, a couple of proofs, and the KG Date Code. The right side of the receiver is marked “B6790483 / REMINGTON / MODEL 700”. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proof marks.

Sights / Optics: This rifle has no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, a brown rubber Remington buttpad, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 3/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows minimal signs of wear, with only a couple very small imperfections scattered throughout. The finish on the stock is strong, and the checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion it rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This Rifle retains about 98+% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no notable signs of wear. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The jeweling on the bolt is vivid and crisp. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The Remington Model 700 BDL has long been admired for combining refined styling with the proven accuracy and dependability that made the Model 700 a household name among hunters and shooters. The BDL trim level features upgraded checkered walnut stocks, high-gloss blue finishes, and floorplate-fed internal magazines, making them both elegant and highly functional hunting rifles. Chambered here in .264 Winchester Magnum, this rifle is built for flat-shooting performance, capable of long-range precision with relatively mild recoil compared to other magnum cartridges.
This example, manufactured in May of 1986, is exceptionally well preserved. The rifle features a 24-inch barrel, a straight-comb walnut stock with crisp checkering, and a Remington recoil pad. The wood shows only the lightest handling marks, retaining a strong finish and excellent fit to the action. The metal retains about 98+% of its deep blued finish, with sharp markings and crisp jeweling on the bolt. The bore is excellent—bright with sharp rifling and no signs of erosion, rating a full 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. Mechanically, it functions flawlessly with a clean, crisp trigger and smooth cycling.
With its combination of power and flat trajectory, the .264 Winchester Magnum has always appealed to hunters seeking a cartridge that bridges the gap between standard calibers and the heavier magnums. Today, rifles chambered in this round are less commonly seen, adding a layer of collector interest to this already attractive 700 BDL. For hunters who want a classic, flat-shooting magnum rifle or collectors who appreciate the rarer chamberings in Remington’s flagship bolt-action, this example offers both excellent performance and desirable originality.
