Markings: The top of the receiver is marked with the serial number, “9MK006458”. The right side of the receiver is marked, “PTR INDUSTRIES INC. AYNOR.SC U.S.A.”. The left side is marked, “Cal. 9mmX19”. The trigger housing is marked, “SEF”

Barrel Length: 5.83”, with a tri lug suppressor mount and the barrel is threaded to ½ by 28 TPI with a knurled thread protector. 

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a hooded post. The rear sight is an adjustable castle style diopter/rotary drum. The top of the receiver has a 2.5” Picatinny rail section welded on top.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture set on this pistol include a polymer pistol grip trigger housing, and a narrow M-LOK aluminum forend with a hand stop. The rear of the receiver has a section picatinny rail. The furniture set shows only very minor handling wear. Overall the furniture rates at Very Good + condition.    

Magazine Quantity & Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are little to no wear marks throughout. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore but there is some light stubborn fouling. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9.5/10.

Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are light handling marks throughout. There is light wear to the leading edges. The screw heads are sharp and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in Excellent condition.  

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements. The bolt gap is 14 thousandths.

Our Assessment: The PTR-9 is an American-made semi-automatic clone of the iconic Heckler & Koch MP5K, produced by PTR Industries in Aynor, South Carolina. Built around the legendary roller-delayed blowback system, it offers shooters the same renowned reliability, accuracy, and smooth recoil impulse that made the MP5 one of the most widely used submachine guns in military and law enforcement service worldwide. The PTR-9K pattern features a short 5.83-inch barrel with both tri-lug and ½x28 threads, making it compatible with a wide range of suppressors and muzzle devices. With its compact size, welded Picatinny top rail, and adjustable diopter sights, it is well-suited for modern defensive, tactical, and recreational applications. This example is in excellent overall condition, retaining about 99% of its original finish with only minor leading-edge wear and a few light handling marks. The bore is bright with sharp rifling, showing only minor fouling and no erosion, rating 9.5/10 in this writer’s opinion. The furniture includes a narrow aluminum M-LOK forend with a hand stop and a polymer SEF-marked trigger housing, both showing minimal handling wear. The rear of the receiver is fitted with a Picatinny section for attaching braces or stocks where legally permitted. The bolt gap measures 0.014”, comfortably within spec for reliable function. Included are two 30-round ETS magazines, the original hard case, paperwork, lock, and sling, completing a well-rounded package.
