Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “7.08”. The left side of the action is marked “PB11794 PREDATOR / SPF, LLC WYLIE, TX”.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece textured synthetic stock, with a semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb with cheek piece, black rubber Remington buttpad, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows light to moderate signs of wear and use, with small scattered surface scratches and dings throughout. On the forend of the stock, just below the barrel, the stock appears to have been painted over with black paint, possibly from a stock repair attempt. There is a small chip in the stock on the right side of the forend, just below the barrel. There are no cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light wear, with only a few scattered minor imperfections on the barrel and receiver. The trigger guard has a few scattered scratches. The black spiral fluted bolt shows minor operational wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this rifle rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a very light, crisp and clean break, with hardly any noticeable take-up or overtravel. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Built in Texas by SPF, the Predator quickly became a favorite among custom rifle builders and competitive shooters who wanted a strong, reliable action with full compatibility for the wealth of aftermarket Remington 700 components. Chambered here in 7mm-08 Remington, this rifle combines one of the most efficient and versatile mid-size hunting cartridges with the precision of a custom-built platform.
This example is fitted with a 26-inch stainless barrel, free-floated in a textured synthetic stock with cheekpiece and sling studs. The stock shows honest use, with light surface scratches, a small chip at the forend, and evidence of a touch-up or paint application near the barrel channel, but remains structurally sound. The barreled action retains about 98% of its original finish, with only minor handling marks. The spiral-fluted bolt cycles smoothly, and the bore is excellent—bright with sharp rifling, rating 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The trigger is set light and crisp, breaking cleanly with minimal take-up, making this rifle well-suited for precision shooting.
Mechanically solid and showing very little wear, this rifle represents a highly capable precision or hunting platform. For shooters who appreciate the refinement of a custom action built to improve on the Remington 700, this Stiller Predator Short in 7mm-08 offers an excellent balance of power, accuracy, and reliability.
