Sights / Optics: The rifle is equipped with factory folding front and rear iron sights. The front sight is a folding post adjustable for elevation. The rear sight is a folding aperture with 1–600m elevation drum and windage adjustment. The upper receiver features a full-length Picatinny rail for mounting optics, and the handguard has 3-, 6-, and 9-o’clock accessory rails.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a factory FN FDE folding/telescoping polymer unit with adjustable length of pull (positions marked 1–6) and adjustable cheek rest. The pistol grip and lower receiver are matching FDE polymer. The stock folds to the right side and locks positively when deployed or stowed.

Type of Finish: FDE anodized upper receiver with matching polymer lower and furniture, black steel components.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains nearly all of its finish with minimal operational handling marks. The rails, sights, and controls are all crisp, and there is no notable wear to the finish.

Accessories: One factory FN FDE 30-round magazine in sealed packaging, factory folding sights, and an AAC 51T Blackout flash hider installed in place of the original FN three-prong unit. This AAC device serves as both a highly effective flash suppressor and a suppressor mount for AAC 51-tooth compatible silencers.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The safety selector, charging handle, and magazine release all operate smoothly. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The FN SCAR 16S is FN Herstal’s civilian semi-auto variant of the SCAR-L (Special Operations Forces Combat Assault Rifle – Light) developed for U.S. SOCOM. Its short-stroke gas piston system runs cooler and cleaner than traditional direct impingement rifles, and its lightweight monolithic upper with folding/telescoping stock makes for an extremely versatile platform. The 16” barrel strikes a perfect balance between ballistic performance and maneuverability, and the factory FDE finish is as durable as it is distinctive.

This example is in excellent condition with minimal handling wear and comes upgraded with an AAC 51T Blackout flash hider, allowing quick attachment of AAC suppressors without tools. That’s a premium upgrade for anyone who runs AAC cans and a nice value-add for those planning to. Add in the sealed factory magazine, folding battle sights, and fully ambidextrous controls, and you’ve got a top-tier 5.56 NATO rifle ready for duty, defense, or collection. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition of the rifle in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
