There are moderate handling marks present, with scattered scratches, pressure dents, and dings throughout. The checkering is still sharp, and the finish is still strong. The LOP measures 14 inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, the stocks rate in Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright. There is no erosion in the bore. Some slight corrosion starting close to the muzzle. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong, but there is thinning on the leading edges, and some minor corrosion starting on the back of the receiver. Overall, this shotgun rates in Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. The trigger has a crisp and clean break. We have not fired this shotgun, but we did perform a mechanic’s check.. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
Our Assessment: The Remington Model 1100 is among the most iconic semi-automatic shotguns ever produced, lauded for its smooth cycling, reliable operation, and elegant appearance. Introduced in 1963, the 1100 marked a pivotal moment in gas-operated autoloader design, reducing felt recoil and quickly earning its place in both the field and the competitive shooting world. The 16 gauge variant—especially with a fixed Improved Cylinder choke—is relatively scarce, as most 1100s were produced in 12 and 20 gauge, making this an excellent find for upland hunters and collectors alike.
This example, manufactured in 1984, features a 26″ barrel, classic checkered walnut stocks, and the signature factory engraving on the receiver. The shotgun retains about 90% of its original blued finish with honest handling wear and some light corrosion starting on the rear of the receiver. The bore remains bright, with only minimal corrosion near the muzzle, and the action cycles smoothly. The checkering remains sharp and crisp, and despite scattered marks, the stock’s finish still presents beautifully.
Whether you’re chasing pheasants across a frosty cornfield or curating a vintage Remington collection, this Model 1100 in 16 gauge offers a balance of rarity, function, and timeless American craftsmanship. Please check out our high quality photos, and good luck on your bids! – J.D.
