Stock: The left flank of the stock is marked “DGR” with stars similar to the DOD cartouche.  

Barrel Length: Approximately 24 Inches

Sights / Optics:  The front sight is a blade set between two protective wings. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight set between two protective wings. The windage knob is marked “LEFT arrow” twice. The elevation knob is marked from 2-12 in increments of 2 and “HSS.  

Stock Configuration & Condition:  The wood stock has a traditional Semi-pistol grip, metal nose caps, two sling loops, stacking ring, and a checkered metal buttplate with storage compartment.  The LOP measures 13” inches from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. This replacement stock set is beautiful and smooth, feeling very nice in the hand. The only notable mark is a compression and line on the left flank about mid length on the receiver. There are no visible chips or cracks. The metal buttplate has a strong door spring and shows no wear. Overall the stock would be in Like New condition if not for the compression on the left flank.    

Type of Finish: Parkerized

Finish Originality: Refinished

Bore Condition: The bore is mirror bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion or pitting. Our gauges show a muzzle of 1 and a throat of 1. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.   

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The friction surfaces of the bolt and receiver show almost no finish loss. The markings are clear and the screw heads are sharp. Overall the rifle is in Excellent+ condition.     

Mechanics:  The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: This Springfield M1 Garand began life with a receiver manufactured in April 1943 and has since undergone a full restoration by Dean’s Gun Restorations (DGR). The restoration included a complete refinish, a new walnut stock set, and installation of a BDB DGR-marked barrel dated 12-09. The barrel is in pristine condition, ensuring exceptional accuracy potential. The rifle’s parkerized finish is uniform and expertly applied, and the stock exhibits the clean fit and finish typical of DGR’s craftsmanship.
