Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “1:12 / 221 REM”. The left side of the receiver is marked “B788797 / MADE IN / CZECH REPUBLIC / CZ 527 AMERICAN”. The right side of the barrel is marked with a series of proof marks, and a “15” date code.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. There is a 6-18x Bushnell Banner scope in 1” CZ rings mounted to the receiver. The scope has a Duplex reticle, and the glass is clear. The Bushnell scope is in Excellent condition.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock stock is a one piece checkered walnut with semi pistol grip, straight comb, and a black rubber buttpad. There are sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 7/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no notable imperfections in the stock. The stock rates in about Excellent to Like-New overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. Some dust from storage is present in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99%-100% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no signs wear. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear and legible. No chips or cracks in the stock. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent to Like-New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions as it should. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

Our Assessment: The CZ 527 American in .221 Remington Fireball is a beautifully balanced, micro-Mauser-style rifle designed for varmint and precision small game work. This 2015-manufactured example is chambered in one of the finest high-velocity .22 centerfire cartridges available—the .221 Remington Fireball—renowned for flat trajectories, mild recoil, and exceptional accuracy with minimal muzzle blast. Pairing that chambering with the proven CZ 527 action results in a fast, elegant, and reliable platform.
This rifle features a 22” cold hammer-forged barrel with a 1:12 twist and no provision for iron sights, allowing the clean lines of the American-style profile to shine. The included Bushnell Banner 6–18x scope offers excellent clarity and magnification for long-range varminting, and is mounted in CZ’s proprietary 1” rings. The richly grained walnut stock is checkered and has a straight comb and semi-pistol grip, yielding excellent ergonomics for field shooting. There are no chips, cracks, or wear, and the stock rates in Excellent to Like-New condition.
Mechanically, the 527 American utilizes a controlled round feed bolt with a single set trigger, and this rifle cycles smoothly with no functional issues noted. The bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling and no erosion, rating a perfect 10/10 in this writer’s opinion. The rifle retains nearly all its original metal finish with no wear visible.
Whether you’re a varmint shooter, a fan of rare chamberings, or a collector of CZ rifles, this is an outstanding example in a seldom-seen caliber that remains both practical and desirable.
