Our Assessment:
This is a superb example of a 2nd Generation Colt Single Action Army, built in 1970 and chambered in the timeless .45 Colt. Finished in factory nickel with a 7 1/2″ barrel and striking steer head faux ivory grips, this revolver evokes the spirit of the Old West with 20th-century craftsmanship. The 2nd Generation SAA is prized by collectors for its improved tolerances and more refined fit and finish compared to its 1st Generation predecessors, and this example is a shining case in point.
Virtually untouched since factory firing, this revolver appears as if it just left the assembly line. The lack of a turn line and pristine bore suggests it’s never been holstered or shot beyond the factory test. That level of condition is rare enough, but paired with the correct box and desirable features, this one stands out as collector-grade.
Whether you’re a seasoned Colt enthusiast or seeking your first top-shelf Single Action Army, this revolver offers period authenticity, classic styling, and impeccable condition. It deserves a place in any serious collection. So bid high and bid firm. I encourage you to look at the condition of the item in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
