Our Assessment: The Ruger No. 1 is a modern classic, a single-shot falling block rifle built with precision and old-world elegance. Chambered in the formidable .416 Rigby, this example was produced in 2004 and is configured for serious dangerous game hunting. The .416 Rigby cartridge, introduced in 1911, was designed to take on the most dangerous African and Indian game, and pairing it with the strong, reliable Ruger No. 1 action makes for a rifle that is both powerful and refined. Its compact, elegant profile and classic walnut furniture make it as much a showpiece as it is a working rifle.

This rifle is in outstanding condition with about 99% of its original blued finish remaining, a bright 9/10 bore, and crisp mechanics. The finely checkered walnut stock is free of chips or cracks, and the factory sights and scope base offer flexibility in field setup. Whether you’re a collector of fine single-shots, a big bore enthusiast, or planning a safari where reliability and power matter most, this Ruger No. 1 in .416 Rigby offers legendary performance in a timeless package.
