Overall Condition: This gun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There is some rub wear on the lower barrel from the forend that is concealed when assembled. There is also some rub wear on the block and receiver from being assembled. Overall this shotgun is in Excellent to Like New condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The shotgun features a single selective trigger and ejectors. The barrels lock up solidly. The safety does not engage automatically when the action is opened but does function properly when engaged manually. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This shotgun includes the original box, paperwork and the manual.
Our Assessment: The Browning Citori Feather Lightning 12-gauge, manufactured in 1999, is a lightweight, elegant over/under shotgun designed for fast handling in the field. It features 28″ barrels chambered for 3″ shells and is threaded for Invector Plus choke tubes, offering versatile performance across a range of upland game and clay target applications. The receiver is finished in bright French grey (coin finish) and tastefully adorned with light engraving, contrasting handsomely with the deeply blued barrels. A gold-toned trigger adds a touch of refinement.
The stock is crafted from high-gloss, high-grade walnut, shaped with a Prince of Wales grip and paired with a rounded forearm for a classic upland feel. The “Feather” designation refers to the alloy receiver with steel breech face and hinge insert, reducing weight without sacrificing strength. This model weighs noticeably less than a standard steel receiver Citori, making it ideal for extended field use. The Lightning-style stock and lighter frame result in a fast-mounting, well-balanced shotgun prized by bird hunters and collectors alike.
