Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “Mauser Modelo Argentino 1909.”, “Deutsche Waffen-Und Munitionsfabriken.”, “Berlin”. The right side of the receiver is marked “A4812” and has one proof mark. The top side of the bolt stop is marked with an acceptance stamp.The extractor on the bolt is marked with a boat anchor proof mark towards the rear of the extractor. The left side of the barrel is marked “.280 REM”. The hinged floor plate has floral engraving and is marked with one acceptance stamp and “A4812”. The pistol grip cap also has floral engraving to match the engraving on the hinged floorplate.

Sights / Optics: The rear sight is an adjustable U-Notch dovetailed into a classic style base. The front sight is a hooded black blade on a mauser style ramp. The receiver has a two piece scope base screwed to the top.
Stock Configuration & Condition: This rifle has a one piece maple stock with cheek piece, sharp checkering on the front and pistol grip. The stock has an ebony tip, and a black metal cap on the pistol grip with floral engraving. Sling swivel studs are screwed to the stock front and rear. The butt of the stock is fitted with a Decelerator rubber recoil pad. LOP measures 13 1/8″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. There are no chips or cracks in the stock, and the finish is in great shape. Overall, the finish of this stock is in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. Some dust and light fouling in the barrel. It is this writer’s opinion that the bore rates 9.5/10.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its current finish. The screw heads are sharp, with only minor signs of tool marks on the action screws. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
