Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL / WINCHESTER TRADE MARK / MODEL-70-270 WIN.-”. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number and the left side is marked “Winchester”. The scope is marked LEUPOLD MARK AR 3-9X40”.

Barrel Length: 24”

Sights / Optics: The rifle has a hooded front sight on a textured ramp. The rear sight is a flip up adjustable elevation u-notch.  Mounted to the receiver is a Leupold Mark AR 3-9X40mm scope. The optic is in Very Good condition.

Stock Configuration & Condition: The wood stock has a textured semi pistol grip and forend with a raised comb. It also has a metal butt plate. The LOP measures about 13.75” from the front of the trigger to the back of the butt pad. There is some light to wear on the stock with some scattered dings and scratches. The checkering is still sharp and defined. The butt plate shows light wear. The stock rates in about Very Good to Excellent overall condition.

Finish Originality: Original

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. There are some light handling marks. There are minimal scratches and blemishes. The bolt handle shows some minimal finish wear from operation. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
