Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked with “WINCHESTER -TRADEMARK-” and the right side has the serial number on it. The left side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / -WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL- / -WINCHESTER- – TRADEMARK- / -MODEL 70- / 22 HORNET”.

Sights / Optics: The rifle is equipped with a hooded brass-bead front sight mounted on a textured ramped base. The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut with a straight comb and a checkered semi-pistol grip and forend. The buttstock has a factory checkered metal buttplate. There are light handling marks, primarily minor scratches, but no significant cracks or chips. The length of pull (LOP) measures approximately 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 94% of its original metal finish. There is light thinning at the edges and a few minor handling marks. The bolt handle shows some moderate finish wear from operation. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
