Our Assessment: This Remington Model Seven, made in 1986, is a lightweight, compact bolt-action rifle chambered in the excellent and often underrated 6mm Remington. The rifle features a 20″ barrel, making it ideal for quick handling in dense woods or mountainous terrain. The 6mm Rem cartridge offers high velocity, flat trajectory, and excellent terminal performance on varmints and medium game like deer and antelope, while maintaining mild recoil, especially well-suited for precision in a light rifle like the Model Seven.

What sets this particular example apart is its uncommon laminate Mannlicher-style stock, complete with a cheekpiece, capped semi-pistol grip, and full-length forend. This style blends European aesthetics with American practicality, giving it both visual appeal and enhanced barrel stability. The barrel has a hooded front sight and is drilled, tapped, and plugged for a rear sight, suggesting flexibility between iron sights and optics. It’s topped with a Leupold Vari-X II 2-7x scope, a compact and clear optic well-matched to the rifle’s capabilities. The Duplex reticle provides a simple, intuitive aiming system for the type of precise, fast shots the rifle is built to deliver. Altogether, this setup is a stylish and effective hunting rifle, ideal for the shooter who values both form and field-ready function. Please see our high quality photos via the link and best of luck with your bidding!!!-R.L.
