Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “-WINCHESTER MODEL 9417 CAL 17 HMR ONLY- / -MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S.A. WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL-” The top of the barrel has a Winchester proof. The undersides of the receiver and lever assembly have the serial number “F760113.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to hooded, serrated, ramped base. The rear sight is a “U”-notch leaf and elevator sight with a white triangle aiming reference. The riser has been removed. The receiver is grooved for a scope mount (none present).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece checkered walnut with semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb, black rubber Winchester buttpad and barrel band on the forend. The checkering is sharp. There are a few minor compressions. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 3/4” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has no notable wear or damage. The stocks rate in about Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish is strong and complete throughout. There is little to no operation wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly and smoothly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
