Our Assessment: The Mauser Luger P08 stands as one of the most iconic pistols of the 20th century. Issued widely to German military forces during WWII, this particular 1939-dated example was made under contract by Mauser and features the correct “42” code used that year. The blued finish is classic for the pre-1941 production, and the sharp Waffenamt stamps on the receiver are proper military acceptance marks of the era.
This pistol remains in Very Good condition with matching serial numbers across major components, clear markings, and a bright bore. It is a solid representation of wartime Mauser craftsmanship. This early-war piece still retains the classic fit and finish associated with the Luger’s storied legacy.
Whether you’re a collector of WWII militaria, a Luger enthusiast, or simply looking for a clean example of one of history’s most famous handguns, this 1939 Mauser P08 is a desirable addition to any serious collection. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid! – M.C.
