Sights / Optics: The front sight is an orange insert serrated blade pinned to the vent-rib. The rear sight is a rectangular notch sight pinned to the top strap, adjustable for elevation and windage.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two piece gray wood laminate with Colt rampant inlays. There is no notable handling wear. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in Excellent condition.
This revolver comes with an extra set of wood grips with gold Colt Rampant Medallions in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its finish. The balance of the finish shows light signs of previous operation. There are burn marks on the cylinder face.The cylinder has a thin turn-line. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this gun rates in Fine Plus condition.
Mechanics: The lock-up on this revolver is solid, with no play when the trigger is depressed. The trigger has been installed with a trigger shoe. The action functions correctly. We have not fired this revolver. This revolver has a wide target style hammer and a serrated trigger. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Our Assessment: The Colt Python is widely regarded as one of the finest revolvers ever made, known for its exceptional craftsmanship, smooth double-action trigger, and iconic ventilated rib barrel. This stainless steel Python with a 4” barrel, manufactured between 1978 and 1982, represents a sweet spot in Colt’s production era when quality control and fit-and-finish were at their peak. The wide target hammer, serrated trigger, and tuned action contribute to its legendary shootability.
This particular example is in Fine Plus condition, retaining about 99% of its original stainless finish with only minor signs of use such as a faint cylinder turn line and some light burn marks on the face of the cylinder. The bore is pristine, and lock-up is tight with no play when the trigger is depressed. It comes with upgraded gray wood laminate grips and a spare set of classic walnut grips with gold Colt medallions, plus its original blue Colt case and manual.
