Our Assessment:
Uberti’s reproduction of the 1885 Low-Wall is a faithful tribute to one of the finest single-shot rifles ever conceived. Originally designed by John Browning and produced by Winchester from 1885 to 1920, the 1885 action is widely regarded as stronger and better designed than its contemporaries like the Sharps. During the golden era of target shooting, high walls and low walls alike saw competition use out to 1,000 yards and even played a role in early military cartridge development.

This particular Uberti example is chambered in .32-20 WCF—a mild-recoiling, highly shootable cartridge that makes it an excellent choice for beginners, youth shooters, or those looking to hone their skills with a classic single shot. The simple mechanics of the falling block action foster safe handling habits, while the rifle’s inherent accuracy rewards focus and precision.

With its forged octagonal barrel, color case-hardened receiver, and attractive walnut furniture, this rifle is both functional and beautiful. Whether you’re a reenactor, collector, or simply someone who appreciates 19th-century engineering done right, this Uberti Low-Wall will deliver exceptional performance with enduring charm. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition of the item in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
