Our Assessment: This is a “New Model” Marlin Model 1895SS lever action rifle, made with a 22” round barrel and two-thirds length magazine tube. The original Model 1895 rifle ceased production in 1915, and was upgraded and brought back into production in 1972. The barrel is chambered in .45-70 Govt., suitable for larger North American game as well as for deer hunting where straight-wall cases are required. The rifle is in Very Good-plus condition with only a few light marks and spots of surface oxidation. The bore is strong and the mechanics are great. Please see our photos and good luck!
