Our Assessment: This pistol is a fascinating hybrid of two iconic eras in Colt history. The frame, born out of the early U.S. military 1911 production during World War I, has been paired with a Colt Super .38 slide from 1931—a caliber that brought higher velocity and flatter shooting characteristics to the 1911 platform.
Such combinations often emerged through arsenals or gunsmith builds in the mid-20th century, either for practical upgrades or as part of surplus conversions. The result here is a vintage shooter with unique historical depth and functionality in a classic cartridge.
Topped with custom eagle-engraved grips and chambered in .38 Super, this piece is a great find for the collector of military/converted pistols or the 1911 enthusiast looking for something with character and history. Please see our High Quality photos and good luck on your bids.-C.M.
