Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army revolver is one of the most iconic American firearms ever produced. This Second Generation model, manufactured in 1970, was part of Colt’s effort to revive the SAA due to renewed interest in Western firearms from collectors and shooters alike. Chambered in the original .45 Colt and featuring the classic 4.75″ barrel length, this revolver embodies the Old West aesthetic while benefiting from mid-20th-century manufacturing standards.
With its original finish, sharp markings, and strong mechanics, this example is a great representation of Colt craftsmanship during the Second Generation period. The vibrant case coloring and high finish retention make it not just a shooter, but a collector’s piece as well. The included Colt Stagecoach box, although non-matching, is a nice bonus for presentation or storage.
Whether you’re a Colt collector, SAA enthusiast, or someone looking to own a timeless piece of American firearms history, this revolver would be a fine addition to any collection. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid! -M.C.
