Markings: The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number “22776.” The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER — MODEL 70 — .30 GOV’T’06.” The right side of the barrel is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN, CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA — WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL.” The Winchester “WP” proof is present on the barrel and receiver.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a beaded blade dovetailed to a checkered ramp. The rear sight has been removed and the barrel dovetail filled. The left side of the receiver is fitted with a fully adjustable aperture sight.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a checkered walnut Super Grade stock with a capped semi-pistol grip, straight comb, checkered steel buttplate, and a capped forend. Sling swivels are mounted, holding a leather sling. There are some scattered minor nicks and small handling marks present throughout. The checkering remains crisp. The LOP measures 13.5” from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is mostly bright, the rifling is mostly sharp. There is light visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 7/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 90% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows mild thinning and finish loss along the edges and contact points, with a few faint spots of surface oxidation near the muzzle and along the floorplate. There is some light freckling throughout. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are clean. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a leather sling attached to the factory swivels.
