Our Assessment: This Colt Bisley Single Action Army revolver, manufactured in 1903, represents an iconic transition in Colt’s revolver history tailored for the competitive shooter. Introduced in the late 19th century, the Bisley model featured a wider hammer spur, longer grip frame, and different trigger angle—ergonomics designed specifically for target shooting, which made it a favorite in both formal matches and fast-draw exhibitions.
Chambered in the venerable .45 Colt and featuring a classic 7.5″ barrel, this revolver embodies the period of the American frontier giving way to early 20th-century shooting sports. Its all-original finish with honest wear reflects over a century of history, yet it remains mechanically solid and retains sharp markings—making it a prime candidate for any collector of Old West or Colt revolvers.
Whether you’re a Colt enthusiast, a collector of antique and C&R firearms, or simply someone who appreciates American gunmaking heritage, this Bisley revolver is a timeless piece worth serious consideration. Please see our high quality photos and good luck on your bid -M.C.
