Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “PYTHON .357 / 357 MAGNUM CTG”. The right side of the barrel is marked “COLT’S MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” The left sideplate features the Rampant Colt logo. The serial number “PN06840” is marked on the crane and crane cut. Inspection marks are present on the frame interior.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a ramped blade with a red insert, pinned to the barrel. The rear sight is a fully adjustable square notch.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are factory black rubber with finger grooves and silver Colt medallions. There are only faint signs of handling and no chips, cracks, or warping. The rubber remains pliable and well-textured. The grips rate in about Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 98% of its original Royal Blue finish. The finish is deep and mirror-bright, with only faint edge wear and light handling marks, primarily on the cylinder and trigger guard. The cylinder shows a very light turn line. The screw heads are sharp, and all markings are crisp. Overall, this revolver rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly in both double and single action. Lock-up is tight and timing is precise. The trigger is smooth, and the hammer locks back crisply. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
