Our Assessment: This antique Marlin Model 1894, manufactured in 1907, is a fine example of the company’s legendary lever-action design. Chambered in the historically significant .38-55 Winchester, this rifle would have been well-suited for deer, bear, and other medium-to-large game. With its 20-inch barrel and classic crescent buttplate, it embodies the balance and craftsmanship of early 20th-century American firearms. For the collector of antique lever guns or fans of traditional big-bore cartridges, this Marlin offers historic appeal and classic function in a desirable and uncommon chambering.
