Markings:  The left side of the slide is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” and “PATENTED AUG.25.1896. APR.20.1897. DEC.22.1903. JAN.25.1910. JULY.31.1917.” The right side of the slide is marked “COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .25”. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number “407327”. The right front trigger guard is marked “VP” in triangle. The slide and frame bear tasteful floral scroll engraving by Turnbull Restoration. A silver Rampant Colt medallion is inlaid on each grip panel.

Barrel Length: 2.0”

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a small half-moon blade integral to the slide. The rear sight is a square notch also integral to the slide.

Stock Configuration & Condition:   The grips are bonded ivory panels manufactured by Altamont, each inset with a silver Rampant Colt medallion. The grips are well-fitted and show no chips, cracks, or discoloration. They are clean and exhibit only the faintest handling wear. The grips rate in Excellent condition.

Magazine Quantity & Condition: One factory blued steel magazine marked “CAL. 25 / COLT” in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Restored and Engraved by Turnbull Restoration Co.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.

Overall Condition:   This pistol retains about 99% of its restored charcoal blue finish. There is no notable finish loss. The engraving is crisp and deeply cut with graceful lines and symmetry. Case Colored accents on the safety, trigger, and grip safety add to the elegant appearance. The screw heads are sharp and clean. The pins are unmarred. The markings are clear, and the engraving enhances rather than obscures them. Overall, this pistol rates in about Excellent condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this pistol. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
