Markings: The left side of the frame has a S&W monogram. The left side of the barrel is marked “.44 MAGNUM”. The side plate is marked “Trail Boss” engraved. The right side of the frame has a Marcas Registradas.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated blade with red insert, pinned to a solid rib. The rear sight is a rectangular notch sight with micro-adjustment, screwed to the top-strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grip is a hogue monogrip, rubber, overmolded with cobblestone texture, molded S&W logos and finger grooves. There are minor marks in the smooth portions of the grips. There are no rips or tears in the rubber. The grip is in Excellent condition..

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with well-defined rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 98% of its finish. The balance of the finish shows light operation wear. The visible turn line is thin and crisp on the cylinder. There are some very light scratches on the cylinder. The screw heads tool marked sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition. (See Mechanics)
Mechanics: The cylinder release does not reset to the rear on two of the chambers if bumped forward – which locks up the action. The action will need to be adjusted and inspected by a competent gunsmith. The action functions as intended. The timing is Excellent. The cylinder has strong lock up on all 6 chambers with faint play. The double action trigger is smooth. The single action trigger is exceptional with no overtravel. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

The Trail Boss is equipped with a .400″ semi-target hammer and a .312″ smooth combat trigger, enhancing its shootability.
