Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT POLICE POSITIVE .38 ”. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A. / PAT’D AUG.5.1884. JULY.4.1905. OCT.5.1926.” The sideplate has the Rampant Colt logo. The crane and crane cut are marked with the serial number “332644”. The underside of the barrel has assembly numbers.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade. The rear sight is a square notch milled into the topstrap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered hard wood with Rampant Colt medallion on each panel. There are no chips, cracks, or major handling marks. The checkering remains sharp and defined. The grips rate in Excellent overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore . In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The balance shows faint muzzle wear and a thin, superficial turn line on the cylinder that does not break the finish. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are clean. The markings are crisp. Overall, this revolver rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder locks up tightly with minimal play. The timing and indexing are precise. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is the original factory-labeled Colt box matching by serial number, along with a Colt factory letter verifying the revolver’s manufacture date of October 7th, 1927, and confirming configuration.
