Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “TAYLOR & CO WINCHESTER VA / A. UBERTI MADE IN ITALY”. The bottom of the receiver behind the lifter is marked “CAT.5991”. The lower tang is marked with the serial number “W33816” and “A. UBERTI-ITALY”. The upper tang is marked “MODEL 1873”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white beaded blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a u-notch elevator sight dovetailed to the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are checkered wood with a capped forearm, semi-pistol grip, straight comb, and a crescent steel buttplate. There are a few scattered compressions and nicks. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/8” from the front of the trigger to the end of the buttplate. The plate shows no notable wear. The buttstock has discoloration from its previously installed leather cover. Some of the finish in the discolored areas is bubbling. The stocks rate in about Fine overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is some stubborn fouling down the length. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: The balance of the finish shows light operational and handling wear. The stainless is bright. The screw heads are sharp to tool marked. The markings are clear. There is old grease in the sights. The top of the receiver has rust under and around the dust cover rail. There is scattered oxidation. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The lever safety and lever lock are present. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be required to meet your maintenance standards. The action has been worked and enhanced with a 4th generation short-stroke kit.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle included a leather buttstock cover.
