Markings: The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / MADE IN U.S.A.” and “MODEL 70 – .30 GOV’T’06”. The barrel is marked “WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK / MODEL 70 – .30-06 SPRFLD”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a Redfield globe sight with a ring insert installed. The rear sight is a fully adjustable aperture sight mounted to the rear receiver bridge. This setup provides a precise and reliable sight picture ideal for target or competition use.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a smooth walnut target-style stock with a wide forend. It features a full pistol grip and straight comb. The LOP measures 13 3/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the checkered steel buttplate. There are minor dings, light scratches, and finish wear from handling, but no cracks or chips are visible. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright, the rifling is sharp. There is light visible erosion in the bore and there is stubborn fouling throughout. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 7/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 85% of its original metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light operational wear, edge thinning on the receiver, and mild handling marks on the barrel and floorplate. There is light rust freckling throughout the metal. The screw heads are sharp. The pins are clean. The markings are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
