Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “COLT MK IV/SERIES ‘70 / GOVERNMENT MODEL / .45 AUTOMATIC CALIBER” and an adjacent Rampant Colt logo. The left side of the trigger guard is marked with a triangle that has “VP” inside of it and “M”. The right side of the slide is marked “COLT’S GOVERNMENT MODEL”. The right side of the frame is marked “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CONN. U.S.A.” and features the serial number “29701B70”. The top of the barrel is marked “- COLT .45 AUTO- / MK.IV/SERIES’70”. The grips feature a medallion with “COLT” and the Rampant Colt logo colored gold.

Sights/ Optics: The front sight is a blade fixed to the slide with an orange insert. The rear sight is a rectangular notch sight dovetailed to the slide. The top of the slide is matte for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition/ Grip: The grips are two-piece checkered wood panels with gold rampant medallions. There are no chips or cracks. There is very light handling wear. Overall the grips are in Excellent overall condition.
Magazine quantity & Condition: One 7rd .45 ACP magazine in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: The pistol retains about 99% of its finish. The balance of the finish shows light operation wear. The markings are clear. The screw heads are sharp to tool marked and the pins unmarred. There are some light scratches on the matte finish atop the slide. There is a light idiot mark on the left side of the slide and frame. Overall the pistol is in Excellent Condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The slide to frame fit is snug. We did not fire this firearm. As with all used firearms, it may need a thorough cleaning to meet your maintenance standards.
