Our Assessment:
The Smith & Wesson Model 57 was introduced in 1964 as a premium revolver chambered in the powerful .41 Magnum cartridge, designed for law enforcement and handgun hunters. The 57-1 variant, manufactured in the early 1980s, features the desirable pinned barrel and recessed cylinder, hallmarks of S&W’s high-quality craftsmanship from this era.

With its 6-inch barrel, this revolver offers excellent balance and control, making it a serious contender for both field use and target shooting. The .41 Magnum is known for its flat trajectory and manageable recoil compared to the .44 Magnum, providing impressive power with less punishment to the shooter.

Given its near-pristine finish, tight lockup, and high bore rating, this 57-1 is a premium collectible for Smith & Wesson enthusiasts and revolver aficionados. C&R eligible and in excellent mechanical shape, this wheelgun is ready for display, range use, or continued appreciation in value. So bid high and bid firm. I highly encourage you to take a look at the condition of the revolver in our high-quality photos. Good luck with your bid. -K.F.
