Our Assessment: The Colt Single Action Army is one of the most legendary revolvers in American history, having served as the quintessential frontier sidearm since its introduction in 1873. This example, chambered in .44 Special, offers a powerful and accurate alternative to the more common .45 Colt chambering. The .44 Special was developed as an improvement over the .44 Russian, providing a stronger case and better ballistic performance while maintaining manageable recoil.

This revolver, with its classic 7.5” barrel length, offers a balanced feel in the hand, making it ideal for both shooting and display. Whether you are a collector of Colt revolvers, an enthusiast of classic cowboy-era firearms, or someone looking for a revolver with proven performance, this Single Action Army is a great choice.

Colt’s Single Action Army revolvers have been prized by collectors for decades, and those in .44 Special are not as commonly encountered as their .45 Colt counterparts. If you’re looking to add a classic Colt to your collection or want a solidly built, historically significant revolver for range use, this is a great opportunity.
