Markings: The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.” The left side of the barrel is marked “COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .357 MAGNUM.” The frame, beneath the cylinder, is marked with the serial number “84182SA.” The right side of the frame is marked with Colt patent dates “PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871. / JULY 2. 72. JAN. 19. 75.” along with the Rampant Colt logo.
Barrel Length: 7.5”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a fixed blade. The rear sight is a square notch integral to the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The revolver has a two-piece black checkered hard rubber grip set with Colt emblems. The grips show light handling wear with minor marks and retain sharp checkering. The stock rates in about Very Good overall condition.
Type of Finish: Blued with Case-Colored Frame
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright, and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This revolver retains about 92% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows light handling marks, minor finish thinning at the muzzle, and on high edges. The screw heads are sharp, and the markings are clear and legible. Overall, this revolver rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this revolver. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
