The top tang is factory drilled, tapped and filled for a tang sight (none present).

Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are 2-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb and steel crescent buttplate. The stocks have scattered nicks, scuffs and scratches with more notable darkening at the wrist. There are no chips or cracks. The wood-to-metal fit is exceptional and both pieces remain very attractive and the pieces have not been sanded. The LOP measures 13? from the front of the trigger to the back of the crescent buttplate. The plate has only a few spots of erosion and a lot of smooth metal. Overall, the stocks are in about Very Good-plus condition as Antique.

Type of Finish: Blued

Finish Originality: Factory Original Frame, Refinished Barrel & Tube

Bore Condition: The bore is nearly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. This is a solid 8 out of 10 bore.

Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 10% of its metal finish, in protected areas only. The surfaces are generally a smooth gray, turning to a light brown. The barrel and magazine have more finish than the other parts and we believe this finish has been applied after leaving the factory but long enough ago to look natural. The screw heads are good. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Very Good condition as Antique and partially refinished.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The hammer has a half-cock safety and a lever safety. The lever locks up properly and the trigger is crisp. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.

Box, Paperwork & Accessories: None.
