Markings: The left of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”, the right is marked “38 S & W SPECIAL CTG”. The sideplate is marked with the S&W monogram logo and the right of the frame is marked with the four-line marcas registradas address. The crane-cut is marked with the model number, the butt of the grip frame is marked with the serial number “C465522”.
Barrel Length: 3? Pinned Barrel
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a serrated ramped blade machined to the rib. The rear sight is a square notch trough in the top strap.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece checkered walnut Magna stocks with S&W medallions at their tops. There are some scattered little nicks and marks through the finish. There are light handling marks. The checkering is mostly strong. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Finish Originality: Original.
Bore Condition: The bore is bright with semi-sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates an 8/10.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 95% of its metal finish. There are a couple of little marks through the finish, the most noticeable are on the top of the barrel towards the front and on the trigger guard. There is a visible turn line on the cylinder, it is obviously noticeable. There are some scattered light handling marks. The screwheads are sharp; some screws do show scarring. Some noticeable wear with service being lightly scuffed over the 65 years.The markings are clear. Overall, this handgun rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The cylinder lockup shows light play with the trigger depressed. The double-action trigger is smooth and the single-action trigger is crisp. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
