Our Assessment: Miniatures have always been a favorite of collectors. The painstaking detail and the challenge of properly crafting such small parts which function the same as their original counterparts is fascinating. It’s also a lot easier to store a collection of miniatures than their full-size cousins! This example is a great replica of a Colt Paterson revolver, but with an overall size of about 3 1/4″ x 2″. The Paterson was the first commercial revolver with the now classic feature of a cylinder which rotates independently of a single barrel and was Samuel Colt’s first success, thought the company would fail and start again before truly taking off as Colt. This miniature and its accessories are in great working order, including it’s neat five-chamber powder charger. With its display case and miniature accessories, it will make a great addition to any collection and will display well with other miniatures or with full-size pistols. Please see our photos and good luck!
