Action Type: This pistol is a single/double action semi-auto with a removable magazine and a de-cocker. It is blowback operated.
Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL” and “CAL. 7,65”. The right rear of the frame is marked “297807” over an Eagle over “N” and the bottom-front of the slide is marked “807”. The right side of the slide is marked “PATENT”. The bottoms of one of the magazines are marked with an intertwining “SS”, “CAL:7,65”, and the serial number above “1”. The left side of the trigger guard bow has an Eagle / C stamp. The right side of the barrel is marked with an Eagle over “N”. There is an “H” factory mark on multiple parts of the gun.
Barrel Length: 3 3/8”
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a short blade integral to the slide. The rear sight is a “U” notch dovetailed into the slide. The top of the slide is finely serrated in a wavy pattern to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are checkered black Bakelite with the intertwined “SS” logo near the bottom of the left grip. The smooth borders show some minor discoloration. There are some tiny nicks along the smooth borders. Otherwise, the checkering is sharp. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the grips are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 87% of its metal finish. There is thinning at most edges with the most notable being at the front of the slide and on the muzzle. There are some scattered tiny scratches and small dings. The back strap and front show light surface oxidation. There is standard operational wear. The screw heads are lightly tooled with strong slots. The markings are clear. Overall, this pistol is in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This pistol features a cocker/de-cocker mounted on the left side of the frame. There is a slide-mounted thumb safety. This pistol has a magazine disconnect. On this model, the slide does not lock back on an empty magazine. We did not fire this pistol. As with all firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a black leather flap-holster and two 8-round magazines. The front of the holster has markings that are difficult to make out but appear to read “SCHAMBACH&Co / BERLIN / 1942 / 304491”. The holster shows scattered wear marks and creases. The stitching is intact and strong. Overall, the holster rates in about Very Good condition. The magazines show thinning from standard operational wear and scattered small scratches with intact feed lips and strong springs. The magazines rate in about Very-Good condition.
Our Assessment: This is a Nazi marked WWII J.P. Sauer & Sohn modell 38H, second variation. This pistol is in very good condition, retaining about 87% of its original finish. The mechanics are smooth and the bore is bright and shiny. This pistol comes with one serial matched magazine and an additional non-matching mag, as well as a holster.
