Markings: The left side of the top barrel is marked “WINCHESTER Select Energy Sporting / 12 Gauge 2 3/4? Chamber – Invector Plus Choke”. The left of each barrel has a Winchester proof at the rear. The right of the top barrel is marked “Made by FN – Belgium / Imported by U.S. Repeating Arms Company, Inc., New Haven, CT”. The bottom of the monoblock is marked “13AMW04571”. The top of the forend iron is hand-scribed “4571”. Each side of the receiver is engraved with a stylized “Select / ENERGY / SPORTING”. The bottom of the receiver has the same stylized “Select / ENERGY” over “WINCHESTER”. The top tang is marked “13AMW04571”. The top of the lever at the front has a Winchester “W” in circle.
Barrel Length: 30”, Ported With Ventilated Serrated Rib
Choke: Threaded for Invector Plus chokes. Currently installed Improved Cylinder over Modified. Also Includes a Full choke, Three total chokes.
Sights / Optics: There is a Hi-Viz front fiber-optic with a small white mid-bead. A light orange insert is installed. The wide rib is serrated to reduce glare.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The furniture is a two-piece walnut with checkered oval texturing, finger-grooved forend, pistol grip with right-side palm-swell, fluted comb with black neoprene cheek pad, black rubber Winchester buttpad with black plastic heel cap. The forend shows no notable wear of marks. The stock has scattered light compressions and lines, with one notable dent on the left side below the cheek pad. The length of pull is 14.5” from the front of the trigger to the rear of the buttpad. Overall the wood furniture is in Very Good to Excellent condition.
Type of Finish: Blued & matte stainless/ with chrome finish.
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The smooth bores are bright with no visible erosion. There are a few small lines from plastic fouling in the forcing cones. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 9/10.
Overall Condition: This shotgun retains about 99% of its metal finish. The barrel set shows some typical rub wear from the forend that is concealed when assembled. There are a few nicks and minor surface lines scattered throughout the surface of the barrels. The receiver shows minor operational wear. Overall this shotgun is in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly including ejectors. The barrels lock up with no play. It has a single selective inertially operated trigger. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
