The rear sight is a U-notch elevator sight with a white triangle aim guide that is dovetailed to the barrel. The notch is fine adjustable. The top of the receiver is drilled, tapped, and filled in four places for mounting an optic.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are smooth walnut with a banded forearm, straight grip, straight comb, and a checkered hard rubber Winchester buttplate. There is a sling stud in the belly and one banded at the rear of the mag tube. There is a small chip in the wood just ahead of the sling stud in the belly. Otherwise, there are only some minor small compressions throughout. There are no cracks. The LOP measures 13 5/8” from the front of the trigger to the back of the checkered hard rubber Winchester plate, which shows scattered wear with well defined checkering. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition and would rate higher if not for the small chip.
Type of Finish: Blue
Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp and deep. There is no erosion.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 97% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows some sparsely scattered light scratches on the barrel and magazine tube. The receiver also shows a couple fine scratches on the right side and minor handling marks. There is light operational wear on the hammer and lever. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are crisp. Overall, this rifle rates in about Fine-Plus condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this rifle. As with all previously owned firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes in its serial matching box with paperwork including a manual. The box shows moderate wear with a couple light tears at the edges and one on the front. There is also a puncture on the back. There is discoloration throughout.
Our Assessment: This is a Model 94 with angled ejection that is chambered for 7-30 Waters. The 7-30 Waters cartridge was originally a wildcat cartridge developed by author Ken Waters in 1976 to give better performance to lever-action rifle shooters than the parent .30-30 Winchester cartridge, by providing a higher velocity and flatter trajectory with a smaller, lighter bullet. This rifle has certainly not been shot much. This rifle would make a great field gun which at fewer than 7 pounds would not tire your back or wear down your knees. Please see our photos and good luck!
