Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER Model 1894 TD — 38-55 Win. ONLY” and has the ovalled “WP” proof at the rear. The right of the barrel marked “Made by Miroku – Japan — Imported by BACO, Inc. – Morgan, Utah / Winchester is a registered trademark of Olin Corporation”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number “00028ZW94N” and the underside of the base of the barrel is matched and marked “00028”. The top tang is marked “WINCHESTER / MODEL 1894”. The lever plate is marked with “W”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded serrated blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch semi-buckhorn leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes. The left side of the receiver is drilled, tapped and filled for a receiver sight (none included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered black hard rubber buttplate. The stocks have a couple of compressions, mostly on the left side of the buttstock up by the heel. There are a couple of very small marks into the finish, most noticeable on the left side of the wrist. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has light handling wear and well-defined checkering. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine-Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a bit of light wear on the magazine tube behind the hanger and there is some light handling wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching white box with minor storage wear and a manual.
Our Assessment: The Model 1894, or simply 94 as it is now known, is one of the most popular lever action rifles ever. This is a Winchester Model 94 Trails End Takedown, made in 2014 with a 20” round barrel chambered in .38-55 Win. This rifle looks like it has hardly ever been outside of its included box and retains about 98% of its metal finish.
