Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “- WINCHESTER MODEL 70 6.5 CM only. – Winchester is a trademark of OLIN corp”. The top of the chamber is marked with a circled “WP” proof mark. The left side of the receiver is marked “WINCHESTER 70 Super Grade /Imported by BACO, Morgan UT, made in Portugal by Browning VIANA-“. The right side of the receiver is marked with the serial number.

Sights / Optics: There are no provisions for iron sights. The top of the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stock is a one-piece checkered walnut stock, with a capped semi-pistol grip, fluted straight comb with cheekpiece, rubber buttpad, a capped forend, and sling studs front and rear. The LOP measures 13 3/4″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttpad. The stock shows virtually no wear and marking. The stock’s finish is intact throughout, and the wood grain is vivid and attractive. The stock fits tightly to the barreled action, with no play. The checkering is well defined with sharp peaks. There are no chips or cracks. Overall, the stock rates in Excellent condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10/10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its original metal finish. The bluing is deep and dark throughout. The jeweling on the bolt is vivid and bright. The markings are clear and legible. The screw heads are sharp. Overall, this rifle rates in Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly, as does the safety. We did not fire this rifle, but we did perform a mechanic’s check. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.

The bore is bright with sharp rifling and no erosion present, rating 10 out of 10 in this writer’s opinion. The Super Grade walnut stock shows virtually no wear, with crisp checkering, attractive grain, and tight fit to the barreled action, presenting in Excellent condition. Markings remain clear and legible, screw heads are sharp, and the action functions correctly with a smooth safety. Overall, this rifle presents as a near-new example of Winchester’s Super Grade Model 70, combining classic aesthetics with modern cartridge performance.
